The Killer B's return to Westchester County on Saturday for their annual tournament. Paddle, friends, favors, BBQ, whiskey tasting and music were the order of the day. At the end of play, new champions were crowned. Ken Katz and Eric Faro defeated Eric Lebenson and Jordan Snider in the Championship finals. Other winners were: Consolation - Dan Gibraltar and David Goldberg; Reprieve - Chuck Reilly and Greg Anderson; and Last Chance - Chris and Matt Falvey. View the complete draws here [ read more ]

The paddle tournament season at Indian Trail Club began with a Men's B event on Sunday, October 16. A fun day of play saw Alex McDonald and Greg Morgan defeat Mike Fraser and Larry Friedman to claim the crown by a score of 6-3, 6-2. Dennis Cusack and John Holland topped Ben Durfee and Byron Maturo 6-3, 6-3 to claim the Conso title.

Next stop for the B's - Westchester Killer B on November 19 and Beacon Hill B on November 20. [ read more ]

The sun was shining in Westchester County on Wednesday...one of the few days in February without snow! The Westchester Women's PCQ took place before a major storm came through that would have made play impossible. Judy Takach and Jill Feher stormed through the field to win the crown over mother-daughter duo Louise Cash and Lauren Gebbia by the score of 6-4, 6-2. Conso winners were Julie Kennedy & Lynn House. Reprieve Winners were Molly Brown & Kallie Hapgood; Jen Demsey & Danielle Lenois claimed 5th place, and the Last Chance winners were Yuiko Hebner & Yuko Nishii. Indian Trail Club

The newly created Indian Trail Club Men's B tournament was a rousing success! Sixteen teams from throughout New Jersey and Westchester County met under beautiful skies at one of the most beautiful sites in the country for a day of competition. Bragging rights go to Steve Bernt and Todd Smith, who did not drop a set in their march to the title. They defeated Jiri Janko and Jon Gieselman in the finals by a score of 6-4, 6-1. Other winners were Dan Gibralter & John Oliva, Alex Woods & Mike St. John and Michael Levine & Paul Marden. The event was so popular that a second one is planned for February.     View the complete draw

The Senior Men's Championships wrapped up on Sunday with Ron Erskine and Mike Gillespie topping 2010 Champs Tim McAvoy and Scott Bondurant in 3 entertaining sets. The final score was 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. This concluded 4 days of "senior" play in Westchester County.

Summit, NJ
The Beacon Hill Men's B tournament returned for a second year and the competition and fun-factor were just as high as in the inaugural season! Jared Lissauer and Greg Weiss traveled from Westchester County to have home the title, topping Adam Drum and Len Gilbert in the finals. The Haines brothers, William and Andrew, were Consolation winners over Jeff Garibaldi and Roger Breene; Reprieve winners were Patrick Collins and Richard Mendolia; Last Chance went to Mark Polemeni and Keith Riabov; Reprieve Consolation to John Blundin and Robert Mannion and Hans Tang and Patrick Collins (another one!) claimed 3rd place. Platform Tennis continues southern expansion

Under new ownership by Westchester NY transplant Remington Reynolds and partner Steven Gareleck the Racquet Club of the South adds much needed courts to southern region and will provide excellent exposure for platform tennis. A new event was established to bring the 4 leagues in Region 1 together. Connecticut, Long Island NY, New Jersey, and Westchester NY each sent their best to duel it out "team style". On April 4th the four leagues were succesfully brought together. Following the team competition an quick fire tournament was held using Red Zone targets. Find out who won, and more about this event.
