Sally Rogers was finally able to help us from above - the sun was shining on the courts for our 2016 “The Sally” platform tennis charity event after years of rain! We had a strong draw of 32 teams playing primarily at our host club, Fox Meadow Tennis Club as well as 4 surrounding facilities. The Sally has been held at Fox Meadow Tennis Club in Scarsdale, New York, for over 35 years. It is a competitive, yet friendly, women’s paddle and silent auction event for intermediate to advanced players

Upcoming tournaments feature something for everyone! LOB! is a women's charity tournament scheduled for October 12th. On the 13th, PIMPT Mixed tournament returns for another year.
The Milwaukee Open, a Men's & Women's National Ranking tournament, takes place October 19th & 20th and the Atlantic Classic, also a Men's & Women's National Ranking event, is the 20th & 21st.
TheIndian Trail Women's B and Beacon Hill Men's B are October 26th and 28th, respectively. And the Rochester Open, on the 27th, will hold Men's National and Regional Ranking, Women's Regional Ranking and Men's and Women's B events.

Mixing it up for Charity
On January 28th and 29th, Bronxville Village and surrounding platform tennis courts will once again play host to the Jansen Memorial Platform Tennis Tournament. This mixed doubles tournament has been played annually for over 15 years. All proceeds from the tournament and the cocktail reception are donated to Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care. Jansen has provided compassionate care and unparalleled services to patients facing a serious or life-threatening illness who wish to live in the comfortable surroundings of their own home, among family and friends, with peace and dignity. Jansen's personalized approach to hospice care imparts peace of mind during a very difficult and vulnerable time. Helping family members is an essential part of their mission, and their exceptional staff and professionally trained volunteers are available when needed most. Literacy Overcomes Boundaries
Platform Tennis players are known to be generous - and the charity events scattered throughout the calendar reflect this. LOB - Literacy Overcomes Boundaries - is a new event this year. It is positioned in mid-October as a great start to the season and a tune-up for upcoming ranking tournaments. There will be two levels of women's tournaments during the day and cocktails and men's play in the evening. All day long there will be silent auctions and raffles. Mark your calendars now. The Wilton Open is a charity event featuring 2 draws (A and B), a steel drum band, amazing food, great paddle and even a Kraken sighting or two. The tournament is traditionally associated with St. Patrick's Day, so green and fun are the order of the day. This year's winners are Mike Fried and Alex Seiler in the "A" draw and Jared Lissauer and Jason Adler in the "B" draw. But the real winner is the WIlton Family Y. Congrats to all who made this great day of paddle possible for the 28th year!
Once again, the New Jersey platform tennis community came together for a cause. The 4th Annual Brookside Invitational was a resounding success. Built around a fun day of paddle and lots of food and beverage, the event raised more than $22,000 for charity.
The 34th Annual Chicago Charities, hosted at the Glen View Club, Nov. 2nd, 3rd & 4th, has named the Kellogg Cancer Center at Evanston Healthcare as this year's Charity. This is a wonderful organization that has helped many families through the difficulties of cancer. In recent years the Charities event and other Paddle League activities, have given us the opportunity to donate in excess of $50,000 to the multiple Charities that support the communities of the Chicago Area. Brookside Invitational Benifits Special Olympics
Once again, the New Jersey platform tennis community came together for a cause. The 3rd Annual Brookside Invitational was a resounding success. Built around a fun day of paddle and lots of food and beverage, the event raised more than $19,000 for charity. These funds will be divided between the Bergen County Special Olympics Program and the Miracle on the Mountain. The Miracle on the Mountain is an Elks owned/run facility where children with severe physical/mental disabilities are given the opportunity to spend a week or two at camp. Proceeds From SSI go to Charity
Chairman of the 2006 Sound Shore Invitational (held November 18-19th at Fox meadow Tennis Club) is very proud to have operated in the black this year operating at a profit of $2,000.00. The profits will go to benefit two causes near an dear to platform tennis players. $1,000.00 will be given to Charlie's Champions a foundation set up for Tara and John Schmitt in the name of their son, Charlie (7yrs old) who is currently being treated for Leukemia click here for more information about this foundation. $1,000.00 is also being given to 2007 Platform Tennis Nationals held in Westchester County NY this March.

Viking Athletics and
Paddlepro.com are in the
final stages of cementing an agreement with Luke
and Murphy Jensen to participate in a charity event that will
be filmed for airing on The Tennis Channel. The Jensens rose to
#1 in the world in doubles tennis and have won at least one Grand
Slam tennis event. They are scheduled to play platform's number
one team of Chris Gambino
and David Ohlmuller.
