One of the repeated hallmarks of platform tennis is "camaraderie". This is always on display at the APTA Men's 145 National Championships. Hosted by the "Home of Platform Tennis" (Fox Meadow Tennis Club) once again, and steered by Jo Rogers and Rick Reuter, the event had sixteen teams competing for the coveted medals. Most of the teams playing on Thursday, however, were there for the fun and friendships. The Alph Beane Award, presented annually to a player who exemplifies this spirit of camaraderie, as Alph did so well, was given this year to Bob Brown (pictured).
