Reprieve Winners were Molly Brown & Kallie Hapgood; Jen Demsey & Danielle Lenois claimed 5th place, and the Last Chance winners were Yuiko Hebner & Yuko Nishii. They began play in the afternoon and finished well into the evening, with the finals of the Women's 50+ National Championships lasting almost 4 hours! In the end, the new partnership of Tonia Mangan and Andrea Noyes defeated two-time defending champs Bobo Delaney and Judy Takach 7-5, 4-6, 7-6. These mixed-up pairs (Tonia & Bobo will pair for Nationals next week, as will Judy and Andrea) know each others' games so well that they we able to anticipate shots and moves that weren't apparent to the spectators. After a long day in the rain, the Feed-in Consolation final - between Marie Adams & Buttons O'Donnell and Debra LaMountain & Kathy Parker - was deferred until a later date. Carrie Rabuse & Carolyn Cutler claimed Quarterfinal Reprieve honors over Janet Faig & Donna Charlton, while Susan Macdonald & Laurie Schelz defeated Margo DeSantis & Blythe Hamer for the Conso Reprieve crown.
