On the first weekend in April, with nationally ranked players, senior national champions, New Jersey State champs and many Ferguson league players participating, the Last Chance Invitational rattled the cages in the first annual event held at the Spring Brook Country Club in Morristown, NJ.

Hosts Greg Robertson, Hank Whiting & Jim McCready missed the April showers forecasted and ran the mostly barbeque and beer event. It’s expected to be sold out early next spring.
The main draw saw Mike Palmer and Ivan Harlow beat Mike Atkinson/Robertson in the quarters and Kendall Osbourne/Tony Brown in the semis before besting Todd Anderson and Mark Ruppert in the finals. The Consolation final saw Pa Estes and Steve Griggs take out Bob Lee and Peter Rooney.
Tough quarter-finalists included the likes of Ray Crosta/ Hank Whiting, Tim McDougald/Chris Donoho, Pat Kelly/ Clay Bibbee and Ron Cummins/ Ed Gartner.
