The newly formed Atlantic Classic (formerly the Connecticut Classic), will take place on January
21st-22nd. This national ranking tournament will be held in New
Jersey instead of Connecticut and will still boast some of the
nation’s
top-ranked teams. New Jersey is also host to the Short Hills
Invitational as well as the New Jersey Classic, which are two
of the best tournaments of the year, so the Atlantic Classic
looks to be one of this years better tournaments. SIGN

Westchester,

Brook Kindred has lost his fight with
cancer. For more than 40 years, Brook served the APTA and the sport of platform
tennis. He was an APTA Board Member, was instrumental in the formation and administration
of the APTA Umpires Committee, helped develop the concept of the current Hall
of Fame, and was a driving force behind the creation of a Platform
Tennis Museum.
While he did not live long enough to see this become a bricks and mortar reality,
his efforts, knowledge and guidance have been invaluable. continued... |
